TV Pick of the week

By Alice Lighton

Linear algebra or Phillip Larkin got you down? Want to get off Facebook? Just need to procrastinate? Here are our TV picks of the week to while away the hours.

Comedy
The Inbetweeners – Series 3, Episode 3
Why: A healthy dose of puerile humour as the guys (and Simon’s girlfriend) go on a road trip to Warwick University. Giggling and cringing guaranteed.
Where: 4oD
Available until: N/A

Best drama
Downton Abbey – Series 1, Episode 1
Why: Embrace your inner arts student and revel in this beautifully-made costume drama. The seamy underbelly of the Edwardian class-system is exposed through a fantastic performance from Maggie Smith.
Where: ITV Player
Available until: 26th October

Documentary
Alan Davies’ Teenage Revolution – Series 1, Episode 1
Why: Alan Davies returns to Essex to relive his youth, and in doing so takes us on a funny and often touching journey into the 80s. A visit to the ex-local skinhead is particularly interesting to watch.
Where: 4oD
Available until: 22nd October
