Fashion may love ugly shoes but Style O’Clock does not. Thus, this week was somewhat of a challenge in presenting to you, the good people of Oxford, three different ways to wear this somewhat unwearable style. However, if perspex heels are in fact your cup of tea, yet you don’t quite fancy Margiela’s £675 price tag, I present you Zara’s take on this high end trend…
Even Style O’Clock, ever the seasoned heel wearer, would think twice about wearing these creations at 10am. However, if you fancy brightening up your (and your tutor’s!) morning, pair with some pastel rolled up skinny jeans for a more casual look.

By 3pm these shoes are starting to look a bit more Carrie Bradshaw and a bit less ‘walk of shame.’ Wear with denim and floral patterns to take the edge off this undeniably high fashion look.

By the evening, these shoes are starting to come into their natural territory. Wear them with a simple dress and some bold earrings to allow them to make the statement they’ve been screaming to all day.
Finally, If you’re going to wear ugly fashion shoes, make sure you do it right. There’s a fine line between ugly and fashionable, and just plain ugly. Be sure to buy a pair that reflect the latest designer trends, and prepare for the fact that they will go out of fashion pretty much as soon as your feet hit the high street and your soles are scuffed in typical non-returnable fashion. Style O’Clock would advise, this is not a trend to be picked up on whimsically – only invest in a pair if you really love them to begin with, because no-one else will.
